July 25th, 2010Lake Placid
February 4th, 2010Soon I am leaving for another trip to lake placid! I’m going to be participating in another really big competition! I can probably beat the Utah kids, but I might have a problem medal-ing among the lake placid kids. After all, its not my home track! Oh well, wish me luck!

Goalie
August 16th, 2009Â A excerpt from wikipedia;
Goalie
The goalkeeper is generally one of the more challenging positions. A goalie has to be able to jump out of the water, using little more than one’s core and legs, and hold the vertical position without sinking into the water, all while tracking and anticipating a shot. The goal is 2.8Â m2 in face area; the goalie should also be a master of fast (hopefully), effective lateral movement in the water as well as lightning fast lunges out of the water to deflect a shot. Another key job that the goalkeeper is responsible for is guiding and informing his or her defense of imposing threats and gaps in the defense (hard to do when you’re tense), and making helpful observations to identify a gap in the defense that the defenders may or can not see.
The goalkeeper is given several privileges above those of the other players, but only if he or she is within the five meter area in front of his goal: Read the rest of this entry »

Doggy Beach
August 12th, 2009Â

Yesterday, my family and I took Suki (the dog) to the doggie beach! Apparently she is scared of all waves, half-inch to tsunami size, so we managed to eventually coax her into ankle deep water, where I ran up and down the beach with her. It was tons of fun, and we let her off the leash at the end. She tore all over the place, playing and being a dog. Unfortunately, one of our friends dogs crawled through a fence onto the army base, and I ran a long way to a lifegaurd tower, who eventually sorted it all out!Â
New Dog!
August 11th, 2009Two days ago, We got up early and drove up into camp pendleton, expecting to find thousands of ugly dogs, none of which would be good for us. We were wrong on both counts! We actually found 2 perfect dogs in the mere ten at the animal shelter! one was a old dachshund, which my brother loved and would be good for our needs, and the other was a black lab/collie mix puppy, which I loved! Despite its flaws, my lab won my parents’ heart, and we got her the same day, much to my brothers dispair. I felt a little guilty, but it was soon overwhelmed by the joy of a new dog, and also comforted by the fact that many other people were looking at the dachshund. (-; sniffle.
Anyway, she is now named Suki, and has found her place in our busy household!
